CDS Board of Directors

Do you have a passion for Christian education?  Are you committed to the ministry of Covenant Day School?  One area of service is on the CDS Board of Directors.  This body is given the responsibility of setting policies and overseeing the workings of the school.  Applications for board service are being received.

A term of service with the CDS Board is three years.  Full board meetings are held monthly with sub-committee work occurring in preparation throughout the month.  There are currently two openings for active members of Christ Covenant Church and another for a person who is an active member of another evangelical church.

If you have interest in pursuing this, please contact the CDS executive administrative assistant, Mrs. Jane Courtright at 704.847.2385 or jcourtright@covenantday.org.  She will be happy to send you an application.  After all applications are received, interviews of qualified candidates will be scheduled.  Please pray for those who would be called of the Lord to serve in this important area.

Parents Association Elections Coming Soon!

Your Parents' Association needs your help! It is time to elect new officers for your Parents' Association Executive Board and because every parent of a CDS student is a member of the association, we are inviting you to either nominate yourself or someone else that you believe is qualified and interested in being part of the board for the next term. Participation on this special board is a wonderful way to serve CDS and stay plugged in to what is happening at the school.

The time commitment is reasonable and the benefits of serving are huge. Please stop by the office for nomination forms and instructions or call our current President Laura Cooper @ 704-443-7062 with questions. We thank you for your consideration and the privilege of serving you.

Fun Run is Coming in March

What an exciting opportunity the Lord has given us to meet needs in some orphanage schools in Haiti and also further enhance our Fine Arts Department!  This March 11th we are blessed to be able to host another FunRun at Covenant Day, an event that involves our entire student body and provides a way for us to make enhancements to our program as well as help out our sister schools.  Lower School children will spend the month of February in physical education classes preparing to run their best — getting those muscles in shape and ready!  On March 3rd, the young adults who work for Boosterthon FunRun (this is not our Athletic Booster Club but the name of their organization) will come to direct our students through this exciting fundraising event.  This is the only fundraising event during the year that invites involvement of all the students.

Middle school and high school students will be paired with lower school students to encourage and cheer them on through the FunRun.  All our students will be encouraged to write individuals and seek sponsorship of the event, although giving to the event is completely voluntary.  All of the lower school students will participate in the run itself whether or not they obtain sponsors.  Proceeds from this year’s FunRun will be directed toward Haiti and the CDS Fine Arts Department.

Parents are invited to come to the event and cheer your youngsters!  What a great way to teach young hearts to be other-focused.  Kindergartners through second graders will run first, and thereafter the third through fifth graders will run.  We hope to see you the morning of March 11th!
