Dear Parents of 8th Grade Students:

I trust all is well as with you and your family as we enter the month of April and begin to look toward the end of the school year.  It has been a wonderful blessing to have served as your child’s Middle School Principal.  It is my prayer that all of our students will continue to strive for excellence throughout the remainder of their 8th grade year, as well as during their High School years.  We are pleased to have provided your student an excellent education marked with a biblical worldview and look forward with joy to this celebratory event.

As you already know, the last day of school is Friday, May 30th.  However, the 8th grade Promotion Ceremony will be held on Thursday evening, May 29th, following which 8th graders are done for the summer. The ceremony will take place in the Worship Center at 7:00pm with a reception in the middle school gym immediately following.

The student dress expectations for the Promotion Ceremony are as follows:

Boys:  Slacks (cotton slacks are fine), shirt and tie. Coat is optional.

Girls:  “Dressy Sunday dress.”  Covered top (no strapless or spaghetti    straps), close to knee length; NOT dressy-dress like a cocktail dress nor prom
dress.  As always, clothing should be modest in cut and fit.  Heels are fine.

We ask that you as parents be familiar with and uphold the Promotion Ceremony dress code request.  If your student’s outfit does not meet these criteria, we will ask that he/she change into something else or not participate.  Please feel free to bring any questions directly to me.  We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with you in the nurturing of your teenager.

Serving Christ,

Jason D. Klohr
Middle School Principal

Homework Tracking Form       PDF

Now that we are in the second quarter of the school year, we would appreciate it if you would pick an upcoming week and track the homework done by your middle or high school student(s) during that week.  Please use the attached form and send it to your school’s principal when complete.

You can either e-mail it directly to Mr. Klohr (jklohr@covenantday.org) for Middle School or to Mr. Dillon (sdillon@covenantday.org) for High School, or print it out and send it in.  Thank you for taking the time to help us, as a school, continue to provide an appropriately challenging educational experience for the students.

 Mr. Klohr and Mr. Dillon
