Dear Parent: To ensure that Covenant Day is providing your child with an exceptional Christian education, the administration conducts evaluations of our teachers on an annual and rotating basis – formally evaluating our teachers in their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th, 13th, or 16th year at CDS. The purpose of such evaluations is to further the professional growth of each teacher. This year, the following High School teachers will be evaluated… Mr. Barlow, Mr. Chin, Mrs. Collins, Miss Cope, Mrs. Cordero, Mr. Hall, Mr. Hicks, Mr. Jameson, Mrs. Makla, Mrs. Martin, Miss Mills, Mr. Mitchell, Mr. Modrell, Ms. Montes, Mrs. Rego, Mr. Sharpe, Mr. Similton, and Mrs. Smith. A key component of our evaluation of your child’s teacher will be your assessment of his or her overall effectiveness and professionalism. As we did with the Homework Tracking Form last fall, you can find a blank copy of the Parent Survey Form below. It would be greatly appreciated if you would fill one out for any of the teachers mentioned above who teach your high school students this year. You can either e-mail it directly to Mr. Dillon sdillon@covenantday.org, or print it out and send it in. Please note: the actual surveys are shared with the faculty so it is important that you provide necessary and appropriate feedback on the survey form. The form gives you the option of including your name. Although I encourage you to include your name, you are not obligated to do so. Your assistance in evaluating the overall effectiveness of your child’s teacher will be very much appreciated and will help ensure that your child receives a superior Christian education. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions. Thank you. Scott Dillon |

Now that we are in the second quarter of the school year, we would appreciate it if you would pick an upcoming week and track the homework done by your middle or high school student(s) during that week. Please use the attached form and send it to your school’s principal when complete. You can either e-mail it directly to Mr. Klohr (jklohr@covenantday.org) for Middle School or to Mr. Dillon (sdillon@covenantday.org) for High School, or print it out and send it in. Thank you for taking the time to help us, as a school, continue to provide an appropriately challenging educational experience for the students. Mr. Klohr and Mr. Dillon

Volunteers are needed to tutor youth from the Crestdale community of Matthews. Tutoring takes place on Tuesday afternoons from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in The Dock. This is an opportunity to build relationships with families in the Crestdale community. If you can commit to this ministry weekly, every other week, or even once a month, OR if you would like more information, contact Mrs. Greenfield in the Media Center.

The
High School students at Covenant Day School are expected to log a
minimum of twenty-five (25) service hours per school year. The school
year has been defined as June 1 through May 31, where the summer is to
be combined with the following school year. Once a student has logged service hours, he/she should fill out the Community Service Log including the date(s), hours(s), activities, and a signature of the supervisor of the activity. The students may either keep the forms until they have all 25 hours and then turn them in or they may do so after each service opportunity. |
The following is a
list of people and/or organizations that have called Covenant Day
School requesting students We are not endorsing or recommending using ANY or ALL of these listings. Covenant Day School or its agents are not responsible for the conduct or any related issues of these groups or individuals since they are not employed by the school. It is simply a listing of people that are calling asking for help. Parents are asked to call these contacts and conduct interviews with each. Parents are asked to monitor their student at all times. |
