States
Congratulation to the Lady Lion Varsity Tennis Team
for being the Runner Ups in the 2A 2007 State
Tournament. The Tennis Team were Conference Champs
and had a strong showing in the State Tournament
that started in Wilmington and finished in
Fayetteville NC. The team posted 8 out of the 9
semi-final matches and were State Champs in 1 and 2
singles and #1 doubles:
Christy Core was State Champion in #1 Singles and #1
doubles. Her partner was Olivia Hyatt who made All
State in #1 doubles 8th Grader, Brianna
Norris was State Champion in #2 Singles. Adrienne
Moorefield was runner-up in the State at #6 Singles
Conference
The
Girls Varsity Tennis Team who finished their
season strong by winning 8 out of the 9 final
matches in the 2007
MAC Conference
Tennis Tournament, Hosted for the first time at
Covenant Day School.
Christy Core made All Conference in #1 Singles,
Brianna Norris (8th grader) made All
Conference at #2, Olivia Hyatt at #3, Arielle
deBrun at #5 and Adrienne Moorefield at #6. The
girls also swept all 3 doubles titles.
The team of
Christy Core and Olivia Hyatt made All
Conferences in #1 Doubles, Brianna Norris and
Madeline Hyatt at #2 and Cori Floyd and Arielle
deBrun at #3 Doubles. This will be the last year
that the girls will be competing in the 2A
Division. The team will move up to the 3A
Division level next fall season. |
